The Red Cliff Coast

Red Cliffs of Haradwaith were towering walls of reddish sandstone between Suk Oda and Kas Shafra, riddled with deep gashes that the natives call "cuts". These openings were too small for harbours and towns, but ideal for anchoring a ship or two away from prying eyes. Waters in the Red Cliff Coast were known as unpredictable, stormy and hard to navigate without local pilot. They belong to Umbarean jurisdiction, but are in fact ruled by local Haruze chieftains. Last Amîr of the Red Cliffs was one Qusay Ubaadah al-Tarim a notorious bandit, pirate and slave-trader.

Major fortification in the Red Cliffs was Castle Ithilgonnost.
